John Iwuajoku

Chief Executive Officer

John is a consummate finance, insurance and digital transformation expert with over 27 years’ professional experience in banking, technology and insurance industry.

He is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Hygeia HMO, one of the biggest Health Maintenance Organization in Nigeria. At Hygeia HMO He oversee the strategic growth initiatives, business growth and digital transformation of the company with laser focus sight at attaining industry leadership.

Prior to joining Hygeia HMO, he was the Managing Director/Chief executive Officer of Clearline HMO, where he led the team in the restructuring and transformation drive that brought back the HMO to the top tier following the acquisition of the company.

He also worked at Royal Exchange Plc as Group Executive Director, Operations with broad mandate to oversee the operations of the 5 subsidiaries and the holding company.

Prior to joining Royal Exchange Plc, He was Vice President at First City Monument Bank Nigeria where he held several top positions, which included Head Branch Coordination, Head Service Management, Head Shared Services, Head Card and Electronic Banking. I also played a key role in the setup of the Digital Banking in the Bank. He also had extensive stint at Zenith and Keystone bank.

He has attended numerous courses locally and internationally and most recently attended the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania’s Leadership and Management Course as well as the Said Business School Oxford Fintech Programmes.

Bode Olawunmi

Executive, Finance and Risk Management

Bode is the Head, Finance and Risk Management at Hygeia HMO with over 20 years’ cognate experience spanning Treasury, Finance, Internal Audit, and Enterprise Risk Management in several multinationals

Before joining Hygeia HMO, Bode spent 10 years in telecommunications companies. He worked 3 years in Airtel as Regional Auditor and Regional Finance manager. He went further to work for 7 years in MTN as Manager, Treasury operations and Senior Manager, Enterprise Risk Management. He also worked in the health industry as CFO of companies such as HealthPlus (Retail Pharmacy) and Synlab (Pathology). Bode is a fellow of Institute of chartered accountants of Nigeria. He also holds an MBA from Lagos State University and also professional certifications from the Institute of internal audit, Association of certified fraud examiners, and Business Continuity management.

Enema Anumnu

Chief Commercial Officer

Enema is the Chief Commercial Officer at Hygeia HMO, overseeing Client Retention, Provider Management, Sales & Marketing, Customer Care Centre, among other departments, as well as Upcountry businesses across Nigeria. She also functioned as the acting Chief Executive Officer from June 2022 until May 2023. In her capacity as the acting CEO, she ensured that the management of the company’s operations was under control while reporting directly to the board.

Before joining Hygeia HMO, she spent about 14 years in the telecommunications industry at the company now known as Airtel Nigeria. She worked in different capacities, from customer care to sales administration to marketing and sales. Prior to this period, she was a Computer Systems Associate as the company’s administrative officer. She joined Hygeia HMO in February 2017.

Enema is married and has three lovely children.

Dr. Nkwachukwu Enyinna Udensi

AG. Head, Medical Services

Nkwachukwu is the Head Medical Services Hygeia HMO, overseeing the Medical Advisory functions. The Worksite Clinic Operations and management of relationships between some key clients and hospitals are also under his purview.
He has over 13 years of post-graduation experience in Medical Insurance, Health Management, Clinical & Community Health, Research & Audit, Medical Technology/Medical Coding skills.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Medicine & Surgery from the University of Abia and a Post-Graduate diploma from the Medical College of Nigeria.

Itohan Onaghinon

Head, Legal and Compliance

With over 20 years of experience, Itohan Onaghinon has consistently delivered positive results fostering the financial health of companies across diverse industries, including Health Insurance, Pensions, Asset Management, Trust and Banking drawing from her wealth of qualification and experience in Law, Corporate Governance and Public Policy. Her core competencies include establishing and implementing robust corporate governance practices and procedures, applying sound commercial law strategies and practices to business objectives with a keen eye on stakeholder value and proficient in conducting thorough policy analyses, identifying key issues and providing actionable recommendations for informed decision making. She has demonstrated these competencies in key roles at renowned organizations like Hygeia HMO Ltd and Stanbic IBTC Group where she has a track record of successfully navigating complex legal, corporate governance, regulatory and policy challenges, establishing sound policies and contributed to substantial financial gains. She is committed to driving value for stakeholders, ensuring long-term business sustainability and balancing policies for the greater good. Itohan is deeply committed to advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with particular emphasis on SDGs 1, 3, 5, and 16 Itohan holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the esteemed University of Benin, a master’s in Law from the University of Lagos, as well as an Associate member of The Chartered Governance Institute, United Kingdom & Ireland. She is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association and The Chartered Governance Institute (United Kingdom), and a volunteer as Legal Secretary for the Health and Managed Care Association of Nigeria (HMCAN), where she has contributed positively to critical regulatory matters. When not being a lawyer, corporate governance expert or contributing to public policies, Itohan loves to relax by travelling. She is a fashion enthusiast and looks out for fashions and trends especially where they meet with African and local fashion. Itohan values family and family bonds.

Sheri Izegbuwa

Head, Information Technology Services

Sheri Izegbuwa is the Head of Information Technology Services at Hygeia HMO. A dynamic senior executive Project Manager and Information technology expert with almost two decades of expertise in corporate project management, process monitoring, quality control, talent development, Information Technology management, and revenue generation within the banking environment. An accomplished professional astute in investigating and solving customers’ problems, directing enterprise infrastructure, and applying a number of procedures to raise productivity in the areas of data quality, code maintainability, and customer service. Known for devising plans for service delivery, workflow management, and process improvement. Systematized and tenacious leader involved in all phases of project lifecycles and outstanding communicative ability consistently lead to positive outcomes. Efficiently applies high standards, sound judgment, and decision-making; well-informed of industry norms and protocols.

She graduated from the department of computer science of the University of Benin where she was an outstanding student. She also bagged an executive MBA from the reputable Lagos Business School where she was given an award for unique contribution recognizing and understanding differences and celebrating diversity. Apart from her academic excellence she has attended various professional courses within and outside the country in the areas of information technology infrastructure management, business continuity and disaster recovery, business intelligence, and information security.She started her career in the prestigious Financial Application system limited and Dimension Data group where she grew to senior consultant level coordinating all projects in Africa before joining Hygeia HMO in 2018 as Head, Information Technology Service.

She has traveled extensively professionally and brings her wide experience to the management team of the company.

Adesuwa Okhipo

Head, Human Resources & Admin

Adesuwa started her career with MTN Nigeria in 2006 as a Customer Service Consultant. She then moved to Diamond Bank and was amongst the team that pioneered the Banks Contact Centre as a Customer Service Consultant between the year 2007 – 2010. She also worked with Visafone Communications between the year 2011 and 2013. She joined Enterprise Bank, now Heritage Bank where she functioned as a HR Business Partner for Lagos and South West Region of the Bank between 2013 -2016. She joined Fast Credit Limited, a financial Institution in 2017 as Head, Human Resources and later moved to the Health Insurance Industry where she occupied the role of Head, Human Resources and Administration. Adesuwa has over 17 years professional work experience and has functioned in the last 7 years in Managerial capacity. Her experience spans, Telcos, Banking, financial Institution, Health Insurance and Real Estate. Adesuwa holds a BSc in Business Management and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Business Administration. She currently Heads, the Human Resources and Administrative Department at Hygeia HMO Limited.
